Walleye are one of the most popular types of fresh water fish, although, they might not be the most exciting to catch. They are definitely not known for their fighting ability, however, bigger walleye can put up a decent fight. Walleye aren’t going to take the long runs that northern pike will and they aren’t going to leap out of the water.

Walleye can be found most anywhere in the river, but a good place to start is on or around sunken islands, generally in the twelve to twenty foot depth range. Fishing the interior rivers is best in only one location — the deepest pool in a river reach that you can find. Walleye congregate in these holes as the water cools. Look for deep pools on outside river bends just off cut-banks where the current has scoured the bed of the stream. If there are rocks, logs or other structure present — so much the better. A large chub baited slip-sinker rig, leadhead — preferably dark in color and tipped with a minnow — or a deep running plug are best for catching walleye in these waters.

Walleye fishing can be a frustrating experience IF you expect to catch your limit (or even one fish) on every trip. The sometimes elusive fish seems to be affected by many factors, including but not limited to such things as barometric pressure, water fluctuations, wind and current.

Some of the popular vacation destinations for catching walleye.

Lake of the Woods – Minnesota and Canada – This lake is loaded with walleye and you can catch pike, smallmouth bass and muskie as well.

Lake Erie – This lake is arguably the best lake in the world for walleye fishing. On a charter, you can catch tons of walleye. Check out Port Clinton, Ohio for some of the best walleye fishing on Lake Erie.

Detroit River – Walleye travel from Lake Erie into the Detroit River to spawn. Many tournaments are held here early in the year. If you fish during the spawn, it will be cold, but the Detroit River might give you the best chances of anywhere to catch a 10 pound walleye.

One of the most satisfying experiences a fisherman can have is to catch a fish on a home made lure he has fashioned with his own hands. Fishing licenses, poles, live bait, fishing boats and other hardware and even software today can run you a good buck. If you are fishing for food as well as for sport or pleasure, you will certainly want to run a streamlined fishing expedition and save money by making your own lures. These are cheaper to make than to purchase and cheaper than live bait. It is not necessary to be a skilled craftsman to make fishing lures. Most anglers already possess the ability to handle the few necessary tools

You will need wood( Balsawood would be the best)

You will need a knife for molding the lure, ( Normal kitchen knife isn´t a good option, and beware knife can be dangerous)

Different sandpapers,

Hacksaw,

Some copper wire,

Drill,

Fishing weight,

Some plastic, ( for the lures lip )

Waterproof glue,

Waterproof varnish,

Some aerosol paint or markers,

Duck tape,

Fishing rings,

Hooks

Time ( if you had time to read this article, the i hope you have time for lure making)

The lures may not look professionally perfect, but they will catch fish, and that’s all that really counts. And if you learn how to make your own fishing lures, you’ll probably catch more fish, in the long run. The reason for this is psychological. An angler who uses a store-bought plug or jig tends to be hesitant about casting it around rocks, logs, piles, and masses of seaweed.

If you know how to make your own fishing lures, you just won’t have such inhibitions. You figure that the lure you tie to your line cost very little in cold cash and is fun to make.

The angler casts into all kinds of risky spots and loses some lures. He also catches more than his share of fish. Another good argument is that the angler who buys his lures in a store usually carries only one or two of a certain type or size.

If he loses them, he’s through fishing for the day, if the fish happen to want that particular lure. But the knowledgeable make-them-yourself angler usually has plenty of spares and rarely runs short. His spares are only limited by how much fishing lure making supplies he has.

Making fishing lures can be an enjoyable hobby, especially during the long winter months when fishing is slow. It has even been argued that the joy of designing and creating a lure offers as much if not more pleasure than the actual fishing.

You maybe interest other information about make fishing lures. All the information about make fishing lures is not available in a single source; you will have to go through several books or websites.
Gaining knowledge about different carp bait is crucial if you wish to successfully choose the correct bait to use in order to catch the size of your dreams. It’s not always as simple as picking up whatever bag looks and smells good, or whatever bait seems to be in vogue for that month. If you want to catch carp consistently then you need to consider your bait choice in more detail. You need to start thinking ahead about when, where and how long you’re going to be fishing.

What works one place at one time of the year will not necessarily work at another or during a different season. Anglers often use easily digested food/ingredients in bait during the winter because carp don’t move much due to the cold conditions. In the summer months, when fish are more active, anglers should use more protein in their baits. Older carp, however, require less protein.

Particularly attractive bait carp
Good idea to carry a few different flavours and colours in your carp bag. If previous anglers have hammered fish on similar baits, the carp may have become wary of a particular flavour or colour.

Bait that tastes good
You may need to limit the preservatives and attractors, or keep them low so you don’t overdo it with the flavour. For this reason, they may be a little short on attraction but, the good thing about using a tasty bait is carp will keep coming back to eat more. Carp are greedy fish and will sometimes risk eating more of what they like even if they sense danger.

Bait for carp nutritional needs
High nutritional boilies contain all the necessary nutrients required by carp, and as a result, carp will find them hard to resist. There are shelf life boilies and there are the homemade varieties. Generally, if you make your own boilies they should work out cheaper and if done correctly, some anglers swear, more effective. You must make up your own mind on which is best for you and your situation.

There are various types of boilies depending on the materials used. High Nutritional Value (HNV) boilies incorporate a range of ingredients that benefit the fish in some way. A typical HNV mix will include digestible or predigested casein’s, proteins, vitamins and minerals. An angler making his own boilies can add other flavours, colours, and enhancers. The drawback to HNV baits is that they are expensive. Best results using HNV boilies are achieved from June to November.

Particle baits
Particles refer to seeds, nuts and grains that are used as either hook bait or groundbait. The best known and most widely used is maize. Other particle baits include hemp, hempseed, maple peas, and lupins. Flavorings, dips and additives make particle baits more attractive to carp. One of the best commercial particle baits is wackerblendplus.

Groundbaits
Groundbait is made from different kinds of natural ingredients such as bread crumbs, hemp, walnut flour and so on. It is moistened with water, formed into balls and thrown into the water where you plan to fish. The carp are attracted to the smell and clouding of the water. There are numerous groundbait fishing tactics helping to catch more carp!

Live baits
They include crayfish, clams, snails, aquatic worms and the immature forms of aquatic insects, such as stonefly and mayfly nymphs.

There are a number of live baits that you use to catch carp. These are the same creatures that carp would find in the water. Mainline makes bloodworm extract stik pellets, which easily break down and draw carp to your baiting area. Dynamite Baits makes fishmeal boilies containing flavours that carp like, such as crab, shrimp, octopus, halibut, oyster, and chicken.

All the information about carpbait is not available in a single source; you will have to go through several books, video or websites. The video, Making The Big Catch is equipped with all the necessary information for both the novice and experienced anglers.

This video is conveniently indexed and has the facilities to find any information instantly. So this video can be your great choice for learning a lot more about carp fishing by Laszlo Segelbaum.

Fishing with live bait has gotten us tons of bites from rod-bending, line-smoking fish. Like with fishing for bigger fish, you need to have basic skills in getting live bait fish. Lots of anglers say that live bait will out-fish artificial. That is NOT true, and we can attest to that. Sometimes live bait works better, other times artificial baits work just as well. You want your bait, fake or real, to swim and smell as natural as possible. A bigger sport fish tends to swim right past a bait that is spinning or not swimming real-like. So, that is why some people favor live bait. Don’t see anything wrong with artificial lures, but you have to be sure that you are buying something that has a natural swimming ability.

One of the biggest advantages to using live bait, as any live bait fishing guide can tell you, is that it is more appealing to fish. Fish who eat other fish are attracted by a fresh, wriggling smaller fish. If you want to attract more fish and increase your chances of catching more fish, then you should look into live bait. Most of the large fishes that can be caught in Tampa Bay are further out in the Gulf of Mexico actually eat smaller fishes. Talk to a live bait fishing guide and figure out what you should use in order to catch the fish you are going for.

Your live bait fishing guide will likely recommended a variety of different types of bait. Some of the more popular types of live bait include shrimp, pinfish, greenbacks (also called whitebait), glass minnows, horse minnows, and sardines. These are small live bait specimens that are relatively inexpensive if you buy, and that can be fairly easy to catch yourself if you go to the right places.

All the information about live bait is not available in a single source; you will have to go through several books or websites. The e-book, Making The Big Catch is equipped with all the necessary information for both the novice and experienced anglers.

The biggest Bass fishing secret is that there isn’t a real Bass fishing secret at all, there is no secret to catching Bass, no more than there is a secret to catching fish of any type.

Having said that there are certain things which you can do to help himself catch more Bass. Perhaps the most important thing is to set out to catch just one kind of Bass, as we sure you know there are several different varieties. Having decided which particular type of Bass you are trying to catch you can then decide on the appropriate bait and tackle.

Several fish species that are being caught in the bass fishing events are the following:

- Micropterus salmoides (Lacepede) – Largemouth Bass

- Micropterus dolomieui – Smallmouth bass

- Micropterus punctatus – Kentucky Bass

In this short article we will deal with catching Large Mouth Bass but the principles discussed apply to any type of Bass, the important thing in trying to catch Large Mouth Bass or any other type of Bass for that matter is to know what their natural prey is. The nice thing about the Large Mouth Bass is it will take almost anything that is floating on the water from flies right up to small birds and chicks.

Learning about the natural food source of the bass will help you know what baits will work the best for each type of bass that you are going after. When the bass are small they feed off of very small crustaceans and then as they begin to grow they will move up to insects and very small fish. By the time the bass reaches adult size they eat frogs, crayfish, and worms.

Of course, live bait is not always an option so it is good to know that you can still receive some great results with artificial bait. One of the best artificial baits to use would be spinnerbaits. They can be used close to the surface of the water or be used to fish out in the deeper water where the bass can be found during the heat of the day. Spinnerbaits can get deep into the areas and around structures where the bass live. They can be used as fast action bait for when the bass are active or slowed down when they are sluggish and slow moving.

The next important thing to decide is where to go fishing for your Bass, in the case of Large Mouth Bass there is a very wide choice, as you will find this fish in both rivers or lakes, they are usually found quite close to shore, hiding under low foliage perhaps or near rocks waiting for suitable prey.

All the information about Bass Fishing Basics is not available in a single source; you will have to go through several books or websites. The e-book, Making The Big Catch is equipped with all the necessary information for both the novice and experienced anglers.

This e-book is conveniently indexed and has the facilities to find any information instantly. So this e-book can be your great choice for learning a lot more about Bass fishing.

To most of us in the fishing world, these are things we learned growing up. Adults and young people wanting to know how to get started in fishing. Where can you go to get the basic information on how to fish, not just the equipment and tackle needed, but how to get started from scratch? What kind of fish to fish for, what do they look like, how do you rig the bait or lures, how do you tie a knot, what kind of rod and reel?

There are lots of different kinds of fish to fish for. Catfish and carp are plentiful and primarily prefer prepared or live bait. Crappie are fun and it’s easy to learn to catch them, too, and about bass are part of the perch family also (bream and perch), just on the larger side, striper, hybrids, Smallmouth and spotted, Black bass and sand bass.

Now we will talk about the fish we like to pursue, Black bass. Black bass can be found in shallow to deep water at all times of the year. Spinnerbaits, lipless crankbaits, diving crankbaits, Texas- and Carolina-rigged woms, grubs and centipede type baits all work well, some better at different times of the year than others. Colors can vary also, but the best rule of thumb is dark colors on dark days, light colors on bright days and sticking to the colors that most closely resemble the food source of the fish.

Lets took at the fishing equipment and tackle that you might need to get started. If you are just starting out and don’t know or are not going to concentrate on a particular fish group, we would recommend getting a Zebco 33 rod and reel package, about $35.00 It comes with 10-pound line and will be good for most of the fish mentioned. The other basic tackle that we think you need include the following. Some size #6 or #8 live bait hooks, a couple of crappie rigs, a few 1/4- and 3/8-ounce bell weights, a small cork or float. This will cover any live bait fishing you may do and should cost less than $10.00. would recommend that you use artificial, less trouble and not as messy. To get started with artificials you will need a package of 1/0 offset worm hooks, some 3/16-ounce bullet worm weights and a package of 4-inch watermelon and pumpkinseed Venom worms called Slammers, for Texas-rigged worm fishing. One or two, 1/8-ounce shad pattern spinnerbaits and a couple of 1/4-ounce chrome/blue back lipless crankbaits. For crappie, perch and sand bass, a few small white and chartreuse jig heads with the same color small grubs. This should cost you less than $20.00 and give you the basic tackle to entice a variety of species.
As your knowledge and skills improve, so will your choice of tackle change to adapt to the ability that comes with experience. If you’re helping to get a new angler started, just keep it simple in the beginning and make it fun.

All the information about fishing angler is not available in a single source; you will have to go through several books or websites. The e-book, Making the Big Catch is equipped with all the necessary information for both the novice and experienced anglers.

Great fishermen don’t really have a secret mantra to bring the best kind of fish to their fishing lines. So what is the secret of their fishing success? Believe it or not, the secrets of success are always in the attitude and confidence of a person. There are no other short cuts on this route to success. Catching a trout isn’t easy. In fact, there are many expert fishermen who have seen tough times because fishing is an unpredictable activity. Fun-oriented but it is definitely subject to a lot of aspects that fall beyond a fisherman’s control. The weather and the geographical factors are examples of this.

These fish are fed grain that is spread on the water and quickly floats to the bottom of the farm pond or hatchery. These type of trout are generally bottom feeders. When fishing stocked trout use salmon eggs, worms, or corn. Use a small hook baited well. Trout have small mouths requiring a hook they can get in their mouths. If the bottom has a great deal of structure and you keep getting tangled then use a float with a long leader. A long leader will keep the bait out of the tangles and deep enough for the normal eating depth of the trout.

When fly fishing, gather local information to determine the best fly to use. Choices will vary based on water temperature, season, drought, flow volume and other natural factors. Seek the advice of another fisherman or a local tackle store. After selecting the fly, study the water patterns and look for spots that offer deep bank cuts, overhead cover or pools behind and down stream from rocks.

There are a variety of things to keep in mind if you want to begin this trout quest. The species are different in likes and dislikes. Some prefer lakes while others are stream fish. Find out all you can about the area to be fished and what the best conditions are for success. Most of the trout species are aquatic insect eaters and nymph fishing often produces good results. Lake Trout, larger Splake, and Aurora are almost exclusively minnow and forage fish eaters, and to do well with those species some type of minnow imitation is required. In some cases it is important to know when to fish. Lake Trout and Splake fishing seems to be best early in the year shortly after ice-out. Both of those species are lake fish, prefer cold water, and will retreat to the depths as the water warms. If you want to try some different fishing, search for the unknown trout and try extreme trout fishing!

All the information about trout fishing is not available in a single source; you will have to go through several books or websites. The e-book, Making the Big Catch is equipped with all the necessary information for both the novice and experienced anglers.

Before going fishing, it is imperative that you have some fishing bait with you to get those fishes biting. It is not that you have to go to some store to buy fishing bait; you can easily make fishing bait at home. For fishing bait recipes and recipes for catfish bait, all you have to do is to surf the Internet. You will be overwhelmed by the number of fishing bait recipes there are on the Internet.

Catfish seem to like a variety of different baits throughout the year. What may work one day in reeling in the fat cats may leave you coming home empty-handed the next. An important note is to keep track of local conditions. Introduce yourself to other local fisherman and find out what the catfish are biting on on a daily basis. We, along with many other cat lovers have always caught more catfish, more often than not, when chumming. Chumming is basically pre-baiting an area with small bits of the same type of bait you are fishing with for the day. If you’re fishing with tuna, then a tuna chum should be used to draw the catfish into the area of water you plan to fish. Now we know you’re ready to get your hands wet, so to speak, so on to the catfish bait recipes.

This is a homemade fishing bait recipe that not only catches catfish but also all other types of fish. All you need is ½ cups of raisins, parmesan cheese, brown sugar and corn syrup. Along with it, ¼ cup of apple cider vinegar and 1 tsp. garlic powder. You have to first grind the raisins and then take the parmesan cheese, and add apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, brown sugar and corn syrup. This mixture has to be brought to a slight boil. You then cool it to add raisins and vinegar. This can then be thickened using either flour or corn meal till the desired thickness is achieved.

Next on the list of catfish bait recipes is the grand-daddy of all catfish baits, and that is the time-tested chicken liver. People have been catching catfish on chicken livers since the beginning of time. The only problem with using them is that they are slimy and fall off the hook easily when casting out into the rivers and lakes. So here’s a simple 20th century fix that will keep those chicken livers on the hook. If you own a dehydrator, you just cut out some wax paper to fit your dehydrator trays and then lay out the chicken livers flat onto the wax paper on the trays. The chicken livers will take about three days total to dry out. You want them to dry to the consistency of beef jerky, pliable yet dried. For an added plus, sprinkle some garlic salt over the chicken livers as they are drying. Another great catfish bait recipe that will have you cleaning catfish for supper.

Another type of homemade catfish bait can be made using tuna, cheddar or limburger cheese, garlic powder, flour and vegetable oil. First you have to mush half of the tuna and cheese in a large bowl and then add oil till the required consistency arrives. Add a tablespoon of flour to every one-fourth cup of tuna and cheese and six shakes of garlic powder to a cup of tuna and cheese. You then freeze this catfish bait to be used when going fishing.

All the information about Catfish Bait Recipes is not available in a single source; you will have to go through several books or websites. The e-book, Making The Bait Recipes is equipped with all the necessary information for both the novice and experienced anglers.

This e-book is conveniently indexed and has the facilities to find any information instantly. So this e-book can be your great choice for learning a lot more about Collection of Catfish Bait Recipes by Doug Burns.

Description of E-book

Collection of Fish and Shell-Fish Recipes

The majority of the recipes in this e-book are the kind of recipes that take a guy years of trial and error on fishing trips to perfect. The work of figuring out how much of each ingredient you need to get the catfish biting is already done for you. All you have to do is take a trip to the grocery store, come home, and spend a few minutes making each bait. You can easily put together enough bait for a whole weekend of fishing in under an hour with the way everything is laid out in this book.

And on that note, the other reason why we like this book is probably the most important reason of all… The baits work! we brought along 12 baits, and 10 of them got bites. We whipped up 3 more baits to try, and they all got bites too. The book has quite a few recipes you can make on the go if the baits you brought with you aren’t doing the trick.

With over 80 awesome catfish bait recipes, this book is a steal. We have spent more than $20 trying out stink bait recipes that didn’t work out, so for us, getting a huge list of proven recipes for the same amount of money that we have wasted on experiments is a great deal. If you’re looking for some fresh new ideas, or you just want bait making laid out nice and easy for you, we’d definitely recommend checking out Easy Catfish Bait Recipes.
